Mental Health Awareness for Managers
Managers are the frontline of your culture.
Let’s make sure they don’t burn out leading it.
Managers are expected to be productivity drivers, HR experts, and amateur therapists all at once, usually with zero training.
This custom, one-day masterclass gives your leaders the actual psychological toolkit to spot team struggles early, manage mental health proactively, and protect their own boundaries in the process.

Course Introduction
Course Introduction
Let’s face it, managers are the shock absorbers of your business.
They carry the weight of hitting targets from above, while absorbing the personal and professional struggles of their teams from below. It is an impossible balancing act without the right training.
We built this course from scratch because generic, textbook management advice fails the second a team member breaks down in a 1-to-1.
This isn't an accredited box-ticking exercise with rigid exam parameters. It is a completely flexible, heavily bespoke blueprint tailored entirely to the unique challenges of your industry. Led exclusively by qualified therapists, we sit down with your managers to dissect the exact challenges they face, whether that's managing high-stress remote teams, dealing with frontline burnout, or navigating sensitive mental health disclosures. No judgment, no clinical jargon, just practical leadership strategies for real-world humans.

Module list
This section defines mental health and explores the psychological spectrum spanning from optimal wellbeing to active illness. Managers will learn to recognise how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours shift dynamically along this continuum.
Participants examine the biological, social, and psychological risk factors that can negatively impact employee mental health in the workplace. The module also introduces essential holistic protective factors across multiple areas of life, encouraging managers to view employee wellbeing through a comprehensive lens.
This module contrasts positive pressure with debilitating stress, establishing excessive stress as a primary cause of poor mental health at work. It introduces practical tools such as Stress Action Plans and smaller, high-impact reasonable adjustments to help manage workplace triggers.
Leaders will discover how to identify subtle changes in employee personality, mood, appearance, and language. It teaches participants to look past personal "masks" by paying close attention to critical non-verbal clues like body language, eye contact, and tone of voice.
This section focuses on breaking down communication barriers and effectively initiating private, flat-level dialogues with struggling team members. Managers will practice non-judgmental active listening skills and the "SLER" physical posture framework to build authentic empathy and trust.
An overview of the symptoms, workplace assumptions, and impacts of three key challenges; depression, anxiety (including panic attacks), and suicidal ideation. This module covers core crisis behaviours, highlighting evidence that direct, safe, and direct communication can actively protect individuals.
Managers learn their boundaries as non-professionals and how to direct employees toward appropriate care routes. It provides a clear roadmap for utilising corporate and external support frameworks
Recognising that leaders cannot effectively support their teams while experiencing burnout, this concluding section highlights the critical importance of personal manager wellbeing. It presents simple, actionable techniques for maintaining daily resilience and managing personal stress both on and off-site.
