Background
With it’s portfolio of 38 hotels and around 3,500 employees, PPHE Group were serious about providing the right kind of mental health support for it’s staff. With higher than average rates of anxiety and depression in the hospitality industry, they needed expert training with aftercare support for those who needed it. Fortunately, that’s where Red Umbrella came in.
Solution
After listening to the client's specific requirements around the pressures of hospitality, especially during the Covid pandemic, Red umbrella provided the client with bespoke mental health management training, mental health first aid training, and a number of bespoke webinars all suited specifically to the hotel and hospitality industry. This bespoke response meant that we were able to cover topics that generic off the shelf content wouldn’t, making it more relatable and more effective for their employees.
Results
PPHE Group had an unprecedented response from their employees wanting to do mental health first aid training, and had significant numbers of employees turn out to the live webinars. The increased education around the stress factors linked to hospitality, and crucially how to help manage them and avoid burnout, has meant that their employees reported feeling healthier and happier in their role.
