Background
Mitie were looking for a wellbeing partner to assist in their Care and Custody department. Consisting of 5,000 employees working across immigration and prison sites, they needed a service that would understand the unique challenges their employees faced, and who could provide the expertise needed to offer the best possible support.
Solution
Red Umbrella were the obvious choice to work with Mitie Care and Custody. Our track record of understanding a particular business and adapting our solutions to their needs made us ideally placed to work with Mitie. Ove the course of 4 years we have provided everything from mental health first aid training, to bespoke managers training, wellbeing training for immigration staff, decompression sessions for teams following serious incidents, therapists on site following the loss of a colleague and expert therapy services to those staff who needed it.
Results
All of these services were provided through Carecoins. By having a single pot of Carecoins at their disposal, they were able to call off any services they needed, as and when they needed them. No delays to raise purchase order, just immediate support. This mean they have been able to react when the unknown, has happened. That safety net has been invaluable for a business that deals in high risk hazardous work environments, and for whom off the shelf services would not be effective.
Red Umbrella now support us in a wide range of activities ranging from staff Mental Health First Aid Training, staff decompression sessions (group and individual), staff resilience training and prisoner counselling services and are fundamental to how we support staff and clients. The feedback we have had from our staff group reinforces the reason why we continue our work with Red Umbrella.
