JLR were looking to implement a far reaching mental health first aid programme, as well as provide mental health training for it’s managers, whilst also recognising the need to be responsive to other issues that may come up within the business. There was no one better placed to meet their needs than Red Umbrella.

Red Umbrella has provided a whole suite of bespoke training solutions across the JLR business, in the UK and abroad, to meet their needs. From training 600 mental health first aiders, to delivering a fully bespoke managers awareness mental health training course for over 400 managers. With a satisfaction score of 93% across all training courses. Not only that, Red Umbrella have provided a number of bespoke training solutions for specific teams, including transition training when moving out of a particular site, or coping with sudden acute stresses following the 2025 cyber attacks. Red Umbrella has been able to adapt to the business needs at lightning pace.

The results have been amazing to see. With almost 2,600 people trained across the business, the impact has been significant. Reduced absenteeism, better staff retention and more people seeking help when they’re struggling. During the summer shutdown at Halewood, Red Umbrella was able to send a team of 10 trainers to site to deliver a combination of mental health and DEI training across a 12 week window, training over 1,500 people. Red Umbrella’s ability to work at scale, without compromising quality has been a hallmark of our partnership with JLR.
