High quality MHFA training

Background

Mental health within manufacturing is already high risk for poor mental health, but when you combine the high security nature of military manufacturing, government contracts and increased regulations, the risks become higher. That’s why BAE systems were keen to empower their workforce to be more resilient and to better support each other.

Solution

Red Umbrella have been delivering mental health first aid training for a number of years at BAE Systems. Not only do we deliver the gold standard MHFA England training, we can do this on site despite the additional security restrictions, even going as far as to find trainers with military experience to deliver to their employees. Not only have we done mental health first aid training, we have developed bespoke add on modules to the training to cover BAE’s unique needs and challenges, equipping their mental health first aiders with he knowledge and skills to better support their colleagues.

Results

BAE Systems now have around 400 mental health first aiders within their organisation, all trained by Red Umbrella. The estimates ROI from this is estimated to be around £1.6m from increased productivity, engagement and reduced losses of employees due to poor mental health, stress and burnout. Our ability to meet the strict security requirements of BAE Systems shows Red Umbrella’s flexibility.
